We’re just two candle lovers in New York City.

We light one almost every night, to breathe, to cook, to talk, to think. It became part of our ritual. But with time, we started noticing the waste. Too many tea lights tossed out, wax stuck to containers, flames that didn’t last.

So we started asking:
what if there was a candle that didn’t need to come in a jar, that could fit into whatever container you already love, that felt easy, beautiful, and a little more intentional?

After months of testing, mixing, and dreaming, we created Tula, a candle made of pearled sand wax, refillable and ready to shape however you like. It works with any heat-safe vessel, adapts to any space, and burns clean, safer than the old candles we grew up with.

The name comes from two places that mean a lot to us.
Tula, like the Cuban song El Cuarto de Tula, where a woman’s room catches fire because she forgot to blow out her candle. If she had our candle, the flame would have gone out the moment it fell the sand would’ve taken care of it.
And Tula, from Sanskrit, meaning balance. That’s what this candle became for us: a balance between ritual and design, tradition and modern life, fire and calm.

We made Tula for ourselves, but now we share it with you. For your dinners, your quiet moments, your special nights and everyday mornings.
